MESA, Ariz. - May 31, 2020 - The AJUSD Curbside Service that provides five days' worth of free food for children 18 and younger will resume June 1 with new hours. Distribution sites include Apache Junction High School, 2525 S. Ironwood Dr. in Apache Junction on Mondays from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. and Four Peaks Elementary, 1795 N. Idaho Road in Apache Junction on Mondays from 9 to 10 a.m.
Each sack includes frozen items that can be prepared at home. Children no longer have to have children in the car to receive food, but parents/guardians must show proof they have children at home to receive the items.
For AJHS, participants are asked to pull in at the drive east of the football field on Southern and follow the drive around the field to the cafeteria, just under the Davis Field sign. To access the FPES service participants are asked to pull up to the student drop off driveway to receive their items.
The program will continue until further notice and while supplies last.
Registration for all new students who wish to enroll in Apache Junction Unified School District schools is currently being accepted online at all school locations. For more information about AJUSD or its schools or departments visit www.ajusd.org.
