POWAY, Calif. - May 27, 2020 - Fast Tilt Retaining Wall is proud to announce that the firm is now an authorized continuing education provider for the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
Continuing education is an important focus for the AIA, which requires its architects to earn credits each year to maintain and grow their knowledge in the field. Licensed architects are required to attain 18 learning units (LUs) each year from approved providers like Fast Tilt. Of these, 12 LUs must pertain to Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW).
Fast Tilt is offering two courses through the AIA program. Both courses will be available live online and with in-person instruction. The first continuing education course will cover the Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW) benefits of a new tilt-up retaining wall system. The course will provide 1 credit towards AIA's annual requirement of 12 HSW credits.
The firm also offers an elective course that more fully describes the design, utility and benefits of the tilt-up wall system. This deep dive into tilt-up construction technology goes in depth to discuss the increased speed, reduced cost, and superior design potential of the tilt-up wall system.
There is no charge to attend Fast Tilt's online or in-person continuing education courses. For those who choose in-person instruction, a free lunch will be provided. In-person courses are available throughout Southern California, including San Diego County, Orange County, Riverside County, San Bernadino County and North County.

Jo Baumgartner, VP of Business Development, is enthusiastic about the upcoming sessions. "We're excited to offer this training to architects nationwide," she said. "Tilt-up retaining walls are a new approach based upon a proven technology, and they have incredible advantages over traditional systems. If architects know they have a time-sensitive retaining wall project coming up, they can literally shave weeks off the schedule with this system. The speed, coupled with the increased design potential, increased safety and potential cost savings, make this a very compelling solution and we're thrilled to be able to provide an in-depth look at its capabilities."
In addition to live online courses, Fast Tilt continues to provide in-person education sessions at facilities throughout Southern California as the world adjusts to COVID-19 impacts. Fast Tilt's trainer follows all federal, state, corporate and CDC guidelines and will ensure that safety protocols are followed as recommended by the CDC and the hosting facility. At press time, measures to be taken include the wearing of face masks for the protection of all parties, proper spacing of attendees to meet social distancing requirements, and the cleaning of contact surfaces before and after each session.
Fast Tilt is currently taking requests to provide AIA continuing education courses covering tilt-up retaining wall technology for licensed architects. To discuss the technology or get on the schedule, contact trainer Jo Baumgartner directly at (858) 679-5550, or via email at jo@fasttilt.com.
