Inaugural SIM Companies Giving Tuesday
[DALLAS, TEXAS, MAY 14] — SIM Companies' Philanthropy brand's primary goal is to elevate philanthropic practice in order to build a more just, equitable and sustainable world. SIM Philanthropy's core focus areas include Education, Poverty, Social Justice, and Mental Health.
May 12, 2020 was the kickoff for SIM's "Giving Tuesday" week-long giving event with a goal to raise $3K for scholarships. The focus of this campaign is to raise funds for scholarships that will be focused on providing financial assistance for selected first-generation college students. One of foundational pillars of SIM Companies is that education is an extraordinary empowering influence and equalizer, and inspires individuals to reach their greatest potential.
The application process for the scholarships will be announced on June 1 and will be accepted until June 29. Students will also be required to submit a video letter and two letters of recommendation. All student applications will be reviewed by the SIM Philanthropy Board.
All applicants will also be invited to participate in a virtual awards ceremony that will be held on July 27. Commentary will be provided by the CEO about the impact of a higher education and scholarships.
