YORBA LINDA, Calif. - May 7, 2020 - March 2020 will be recorded in history books as the time when the world shutdown to save lives. Port View Preparatory®(PVP) took action quickly and created a high-quality virtual program in one day to ensure special education also survived. Using research and data, we adapted our programming to meet the complex needs of our student population.
As we continue with COVID19 stay-at-home orders in Orange, San Bernardino and surrounding counties, Port View Preparatory®is in its seventh week of continuous virtual education. Our specialized, individual educational services that have remained also include speech, occupational therapy and behavioral services and consultations. At PVP we provide each student, approximately 125, with a specialized academic instructional plan depending on their unique diagnosis and needs including consultation, monitoring, individualized instructional support and a collaborative teaching team. Most of our students also benefit from having a one-to-one aide; these aides are also available virtually at this time.
Take a look behind the scenes of our road to virtual classrooms (https://www.portviewpreparatory.com/resources/virtual-lea...) and how our mission to champion for our students is alive more now than ever.
Port View Preparatory® is a collaborative educational school that caters to the unique needs of K-22 students with developmental disabilities, both mental and physical, incorporating research-based instruction and therapy to ensure personal, social and educational growth in a safe and nurturing setting.
