FAIRBANKS, Alaska - May 4, 2020 - Equipment Source, Inc. (ESI) remains open for business, continuing to support customers working in critical industries around Alaska. These include public works constructions, healthcare facility operations, utilities, oil and gas and telecommunications in the lead-up to the busy summer season.
In order to reduce opportunities for the COVID-19 virus to spread, ESI has implemented new safety measures which include closing its storefronts in Anchorage and Fairbanks to the public.
Services have been adjusted as follows:
Customers may order parts via phone or email and ESI requests all payments are made via credit card. Curbside pick-ups will be available for parts and products in both cities.
The outdoor showrooms, located at 7780 Old Seward Highway in Anchorage and 1919 Van Horn Road in Fairbanks will remain open for heavy equipment viewing. Members of the sales teams are happy to meet with customers outside. All equipment on display is in stock and ready for delivery immediately, meaning there will be no delays to our service.
Staff members are able to provide customer service support over the phone or outside the storefronts to ensure the operational needs of all clients are met.
ESI is also offering short-term rental, with minimum bookings of seven days. Pick-up and delivery are available, subject to road weight restrictions, in both cities.
Nick Ferree, ESI Vice President, says safety is the company's priority.
"A lot of our customers are running critical infrastructure projects and they need parts and material to keep going. It's important to us to keep supplying them during this time," he says.
"Our customers need high reliability and an excellent service. The season up here is very short, so we need to make sure our customers can be as productive as possible as the weather allows."
The safety standards include utilizing thorough sanitation practices, maintaining a distance of at least six feet between all people in the showrooms, sanitation of rental equipment between bookings, wearing masks and postponing all non-essential staff travel. These measures are designed to protect staff members and customers.
ESI will continue to monitor the situation and adhere to CDC and government guidelines.
