Linda Hudson Hoagland is the author of Missing Sammy, The Best Darn Secret, and the Lindsay Harris Murder Mystery Series. Hoagland is a resident of Tazewell, Virginia and a graduate of Southwest Virginia Community College. She has won acclaim for many of her novels and received many awards for her writings.

Two of Hoagland's poems, "Instant Replay" and "Saved by a Minute" were featured in Northern Stars magazine in March 2020. Four of Hoagland's poems, "The Noise Maker," "Missing," "Reflections," and "The Last Time" were also featured in Star Poets magazine, with "The Noise Maker" winning first place in the publication's poetry contest.

In May 2020, Hoagland's short story "That Was Close" will be featured in the Bluestone Review and will be available to read online.
