TORONTO - April 12, 2020 - Winners were announced on April 9, International Songwriters Day for The International Songwriters Day Song Contest.
The contest put a call out for "inspirational" songs and "indie music videos" (under 10,000$). Entries were submitted from all parts of the world, Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and North America.
The winning song "Gonna Make It" by Toronto's "Dylan Cohen" was about the struggle to overcome addiction and self-empowerment. The winning music video was by City of Pines, Nick Clark from (WA) and was about the power of "Letting Go" of a relationship that was no longer working. Other songs and videos dealt with topics such as not giving up #2 song: Julie Ludgate's "Fighter," and #3 song: Tara Chugh's "Break Away" about leaving a bad situation. Overcoming isolation, mental health and treating seniors with dignity were other topics that were addressed.
Please check out the hard working and talented winners and show them some media love if you can. Their "inspirational" artistry deserves to be heard.
