GREENVILLE, Pa. - April 9, 2020 - The Thiel College Office of Admission has added virtual campus visits and updated its admission requirements to help prospective students and their families overcome the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thiel (https://www.thiel.edu/) is a leading independent college in northwest Pa., located between Pittsburgh and Erie.
Virtual visits will ensure that prospective students and their family members can still meet with campus community members who are an important part of the college decision-making process. Admission counselors can conduct a virtual meeting and counselors can potentially add faculty members, coaches, department chairs, current Thiel College students or administrative team members to the virtual visit. Virtual visit sessions are available from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
Prospective students can also take a video tour of campus by going to the Thiel College's homepage. The tour is also on youtube.com.
In addition to providing a valuable way to connect to the College, the Office of Admission will also be using a test-optional admission policy. Students will not be required to submit SAT or ACT scores. The test-optional policy will continue the College's already existing holistic review of a student's application materials.
The Office of Admission has also been working with the College's Financial Aid office to extend the deadlines for nearly all institutional aid and scholarship applications. These scholarship extensions also apply to the geographically-based Baughman and Ella Busch scholarships for Mercer County, Pa. students and Resch Scholarships for students from Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties in Ohio.
