Chocoverse 3: Fake Chocolate Book Launch Party Goes Virtual

RICHARDSON, Texas - April 1, 2020 - Dallas-Area author Amber Royer (lives in Richardson, teaches creative writing for both the University of Texas at Arlington and for Writing Workshops Dallas) is celebrating the release of her third science fiction novel, Pure Chocolate, coming April 14. The Chocoverse is foodie-centric space opera set in a 'verse where the most important thing in the galaxy is chocolate.

Unfortunately, with in person events being canceled, this is a difficult time to launch a book. Amber is not letting that get her down, though. She is turning the party into a Zoom get-together. And an opportunity to highlight local small businesses at a time when they need it most.

Cindy Pedraza of CocoAndre will do a bean-to-bar chocolate making demo, and then Sander Wolf of DallasChocolate.org will talk about craft chocolate. Blake Kimzey of Writing Workshops Dallas will also speak on the resiliency of the Dallas Writing Community.

CocoAndre is a Latina-owned chocolate company that sources cacao beans, vanilla, cinnamon and coffee from Chiapas Mexico. The mother/daughter team of chocolate makers was recently featured in D magazine.

Free Chocolate was named by the Barnes and Noble Science Fiction and Fantasy Blog as one of their, "25 Sci-Fi & Fantasy Debuts to Watch for in 2018." It also received favorable reviews from sources such as Publisher's Weekly.

Pure Chocolate made the Barnes and Noble Science Fiction and Fantasy Blog's list of "42 Sci-Fi Sequels We Can't Wait to Read in 2019."
