SANTEE, Calif. - Jan. 14, 2020 - William Lyon Homes, a respected home builder with a multi-state footprint, has awarded Fast Tilt Retaining Wall the contract to construct the retaining walls at their newest community, Fast Tilt is installing a 400' long, 6' tall retaining wall at the north property line, adjacent to the San Diego River Basin. Wall construction is scheduled for late January 2020.
The Fast Tilt Retaining Wall system was selected because of its fast construction time as well as the ability to customize and decorate the walls to achieve the desired community look. Fast Tilt's patented retaining wall technology allows wall panels to be built before or concurrent with the footings, making installation up to 40% faster than other wall systems because of the unique advantages of the tilt-up construction method.
Russ Baumgartner, President of Fast Tilt Retaining Wall, is looking forward to the project. "We're thrilled to be working with William Lyon Homes on their new project," Baumgartner said. "Walls are one of the first things that potential residents see when they're driving by a community, so it's important to make sure that they are both high quality and attractive."
Baumgartner is also enthusiastic about the time it will take to complete the project. "Once that crane is in place the walls go up fast, improving the pace of construction while minimizing the effects of traffic disturbance in the community." A crew of five will complete the wall in two to three weeks.
Because the wall panels are constructed on a horizontal plane before being lifted into place, Fast Tilt walls also provide a unique opportunity to customize and decorate the walls to fit the community. In Riverview at Town Center, the retaining wall will be built to complement the decorative sidewalk that runs adjacent to the San Diego River. A colored concrete with a #50 TOP-CAST will be used to achieve a decorative concrete surface that will closely match the sidewalk.
