New Jersey Monday, January 13, 2020- Erica Collins announced on Monday she is contemplating running for Congress against former New Jersey Democrat Jeff Van Drew who recently switched parties.
Raised in Cherry Hill, NJ, Collins is a Progressive, Civil & Women's Rights Activist/Advocate, Conscious Thought Leader, Media Influencer and Social Entrepreneur. She is an Executive Producer and co-Host of a Progressive Podcast entitled Blog Talk Radio's Pulse of the People http://blogtalkradio.com/pulseofthepeople.
Collins plans to develop an exploratory committee and a "LISTENING TOUR" of the people of the counties in New Jersey on issues surrounding Equal Pay, Healthcare and Education amongst others.
A descendent of America's oldest African American community Gouldtown, first interracial-marriage in the United States of America, and Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Indian Tribe of Bridgeton, Cumberland County, New Jersey.

Congressman John Van Drew is now among the symbols of the HYPOCRISY of our DEMOCRACY."

Collins would join four other Democrats seeking their party's nomination for New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District seat and would run against freshman Rep. Jeff Van Drew, who joined the Republican Party after opposing the impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump.
Van Drew, who voted against both articles of impeachment against Trump, was struggling in New Jersey politics as a Democrat.
