JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Dec. 27, 2019 - The Work Your Dream Job Fair will offer a wide range of employment and training opportunities for the residents of Jacksonville. Taking place at Highlands Library for the second time, the hope is to connect attendees with resources and connections that will lead to employment. Former city council candidate Nahshon Nicks is continuing his goal of improving the cycle of poverty in Duval County by connecting natives to opportunities and education for marketable skills. Nicks was recently tapped to head the CREDI initiative for the First Coast Leadership Foundation, expanding his efforts in mentorship and community development. " In order for a dream to come alive, you have to work it with consistency and commitment", said Nicks.
The Work Your Dream Job Fair will feature various employers and positions of all types with interviews taking place on site. Sponsors of the event include Global Freight and Commerce, Anum Law and Duval Bail Bonds. Attendees are asked to come dressed professionally and ready to interview.
The Work Your Dream Job Fair will take place on January 13, 2020 at Highlands Library from 11 am - 2 pm. Nahshon Nicks is a minister at Mount Sinai Baptist Church who is actively working with the inner city youth as a mentor by teaching social and emotional learning through martial arts at local DCPS schools and programs. Nicks currently serves on the Board of Directors for Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and was recently announced as the Program DIrector (CREDI) for The First Coast Leadership Foundation. Nahshon continues to be engaged in the community and supporting initiatives that will increase growth in Duval County and beyond.
