November 08, 2019 - Ox Grill is now open at ICON Park, offering guests a chance to sample a selection of mouth-watering dishes from around the world. The restaurant opened its doors to diners the first weekend in November.
Ox Grill’s menu is inspired by global cuisine. There is mofongo to give diners a taste of Puerto Rico, Portuguese bacalhau (cod) and a taste of France in the chicken jambonette.
“ICON Park draws people from around the world and I want to bring them together through food,” said Ox Grill owner, Josefina Muñiz. “Our guests will experience the highest quality service while they relax and enjoy the view of ICON Park’s busy attractions. We want our guests to feel like they are dining at some of the most expensive restaurants in the world without the price tag.”
Specialties at Ox Grill include chocolate spiced lamb chops and entrees such as Ox Frog, pan-seared frog legs in lemon butter sauce, drizzled with Swiss cheese mustard cream. Another unique item on the starter menu is the Foie Gras and Fig, pan-seared foie gras and figs, served over brie cream sauce.
Ox Grill features a salad bar, but it’s probably not what you envision. The gourmet salad bar is the centerpiece of the restaurant, where guests can choose pre-prepared selections, curated by the chef.
The concept is a joint effort between Muñiz, and Brazilian-born Chef Marcelo Benegas, who was once named “Chef of the Year” in France.
“Marcelo has the passion, world experience and culinary expertise to make Ox Grill an award-winning restaurant,” said Muñiz.
Ox Grill will serve lunch and dinner, as well as Sunday brunch. The 7,800 square foot space includes a venue for corporate meetings and private events, which can accommodate 200 guests. Complimentary valet parking is available next door.
