LISLE, Ill. - Nov. 5, 2019 - VisTracks has recently introduced a standalone Driver Vehicle Inspection Report ("DVIR") product that takes the VisTracks ELD platform and modularizes the ELD and DVIR functionality in the system. With this solution, VisTracks can support both carriers who only require a DVIR solution, as well as those who need the current combination of ELD and DVIR for their maintenance staff and drivers. The DVIR product will be available at no cost until the end of 2019.
DVIR, is a formal record confirming a driver completed an inspection on a commercial motor vehicle. Inspections are carried out at the beginning of the day, before work begins, and also at the end of the day when driving is finished (called the pre-trip inspection and post-trip inspection).
The DVIR system allows fleets to track problems with their vehicles via an application and administrative web portal, and to configure alerts to notify key personnel via email or SMS when a new problem is reported. In support of accurate and detailed issue tracking, the product supports images and comments for each inspection point as well as customizable DVIR forms to meet the requirements of any fleet.

VisTracks' ELD product consists of the reseller-branded VisTracks' FMCSA-compliant and certified mobile application and portal. This is combined with a tablet or smartphone in the vehicle and a certified hardware device attached to the engine that transmits data via Bluetooth, WiFi Direct, WiFi or a wired serial interface to the tablet. VisTracks ELD enables drivers to keep electronic logs of their driving status, be warned of impending violations, provide for pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection, and follow additional state and federal rules.
