COLUMBUS, Ohio - Oct. 1, 2019 - Comics legend Arvell Jones ("Luke Cage," "Thor"), industry veterans Jeremy Clark ("Grimm Fairy Tales," "Day of the Dead"), Mostafa Moussa ("Superman," "Fantastic Four"), Kurt Lehner ("Gargoyles," "Marvel Action Hour"), Joe Wos ("Mazetoons"), Joe Corroney ("Star Wars," "Marvel's Avengers"), Mike Watson (Freestyle Komics, Upper Deck) and Ray Wenck (Random Survival series, Ghost of a Chance) are among the leading creators scheduled to populate Artist Alley at the ninth annual Wizard World Columbus at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, October 18-20. The weekend will also feature many demonstrations and discussions at the Creative Stage, as well as numerous local Columbus-area creators.
In addition to Corroney, Watson and Wenck, other Columbus area creators attending include Travis Horseman (Amiculus: A Secret History), Addie J. King (The Grimm Legacy, The Andersen Ancestry), Rachel Kozy (visual design), Zach Jordan ("Adellos" board game, "Bizarro"), Brett Wood ("The Silver Bullet," "Devil Dealers") and Todd Beistel ("The Horror Show," "Frank").
Wizard World Columbus will also include non-stop live entertainment, gaming, exclusive Q&A sessions with select celebrities and autographs/photo ops with top stars such as "Smallville" stars Tom Welling ("Clark Kent"), Michael Rosenbaum ("Lex Luthor") and Laura Vandervoort ("Kara"), The Princess Bride standouts Cary Elwes ("Westley), Wallace Shawn ("Vizzini") and Chris Sarandon ("Prince Humperdinck"), Henry Winkler ("Happy Days," "Barry"), Ken Page (The Nightmare Before Christmas), Samm Levine ("Freaks and Geeks," Inglourious Basterds), Thomas Ian Nicholas (Rookie of the Year, American Pie) and more, along with Wizard World's Master of Ceremonies, Kato Kaelin.
Wizard World Columbus attendees can also vie for more than just bragging rights, as the Best in Show winner at the October 19 Costume Contest will receive a $10,000 cash prize, and five other categories will carry $500 prizes in the largest offering for a Wizard World Costume Contest ever, a $12,500 prize pool.
Wizard World events bring together thousands of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop culture: movies, television, gaming, live entertainment, comics, sci-fi, graphic novels, toys, original art, collectibles, contests and more. The 11th event scheduled on the 2019 Wizard World calendar, Columbus show hours are Friday, October 18, 4-9 p.m.; Saturday, October 19, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, October 20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Kids 10 and under are admitted free with paid adult.
