TO CELEBRATE 100 YEARS OF WOMEN IN PARLIAMENT.
100 years ago an American woman walked into the British Parliament and changed the face of democracy, equality and freedom forever.
She was put there by the people of Plymouth. Her election was announced on 28th November 1919.
100 years later, at 1:00pm, on 28th November 2019 the first statue of the first woman in Parliament will be unveiled on The Hoe in Plymouth.
That day will see Nancy Astor stand again in the city.
