LOS ANGELES - Aug. 27, 2019 - Victoria Gracie, the best-selling author of the world's first jiu-jitsu children's picture book, Kip and the Magical Belt, is releasing her highly anticipated second children's book, Kalyn Finds Her Power, on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.
Kalyn Finds Her Power is the story of a young girl who gets bullied and learns to identify and process the major emotions that result. Gently showing the complexities of our social-emotional world, other well-meaning characters in the book encourage Kalyn to joke about it, get angry, and even detach completely from her emotions. In the end, with the help of her magical belt, Kalyn chooses to truly feel her emotions and learns to stand up for herself in a courageous way.
Through her experiences, Kalyn realizes her inner power and finds her voice. She develops the strength to respond with what feels right to her. She models how to set a beautiful boundary, an important skill for kids to learn in today's challenging world.
"My hope is that families use my books as a tool to discuss difficult topics such as self-defense and boundary setting while connecting with their children and building confidence. Double win.," says author Victoria Gracie.
Victoria Gracie's first book, Kip and the Magical Belt, is the heartwarming journey of a young boy having difficulty at school. Lacking courage and the tools he needs to defend himself, he gets targeted by the school bully. Kip finds the help he needs in the most unexpected family heirloom, and with hard work and discipline, he builds his physical skills and confidence.
Both of Victoria Gracie's empowering children's picture books will be available on Amazon.com, bookstores, and Gracie University HQ. Bubba the Bear, the innovative companion jiu-jitsu bear with a moldable skeleton to practice techniques with is also available at MagicalBelt.com.
