LEWES, England - Aug. 24, 2019 -Veganism has skyrocketed in the last few years with the latest report by Ceuta Group suggesting interest in vegan food has increased by over 400% in the UK. Sussex Vegan, a vegan food listing directory in the South East of England has noticed the phenomenal growth working now with over 100 business in the area. The site boasts technology that users can geo-locate and direct message vegan-friendly restaurants, cafes and bars in their proximity and is set to expand across the country.

Vegan Festival Lewes is the UK's first college-based vegan festival. The last event in Eastbourne was praised as a huge success by Heather Mills, founder of the global business VBites Food, who attended and gave a talk to students, staff and public around the benefits of a vegan lifestyle. Heather Mills reflected on the event saying, "They've done an amazing job, people were surprised everywhere that they are eating yummy gorgeous food like VBites and also with lots of other stands including innovative cakes and products". The festival attracted over 1,000 attendees and businesses from all over the UK.

In a statement, Sussex Vegan said, "Just after World Vegan Day seems the perfect time to showcase veganism in Sussex." Vegan Festival Lewes is a free event and open to the public. The event will feature a recognised speaker, informative exhibitors, samples of delicious vegan food from vegan-friendly businesses, as well as vegan health and beauty products.

Robert Stevens, Alumni Business Studies Student Ambassador at East Sussex College Lewes, previously commended for being one of the first students at the college to attend a talk held with the director of Google UK and Ireland at an event aimed at entrepreneurs in the capital commented, "We are delighted to be launching the popular event on the Lewes campus. You can expect to find vegan Italian patisserie, Californian inspired street food, hair and beauty products, vegan interior design and much more.
