Even with conflicting schedules, you can have your collection of favorite TV show episodes with a personal video recorder, like the TiVo. It is a digital video recorder that lets you record. Whenever you record a TV show, it is recorded on the hard drive. You can manually program your TiVo to record your favorite TV shows. However, you can also set up a season pass so you will no longer have to manually set up schedules.
•Search for the title of the TV show. The first thing you need to do is to look for the title of the TV show you want to record. Choose the “Find Programs” option. You can run a search from the main screen by selecting “Search Title.” You can use your remote control to type in the title of the show you are looking for.
•Select the “Get Season Pass” option. Once you have found the title of the TV show for recording, highlight the title and press the “Select” button on your TiVo remote control. Select the “Get Season Pass” option within the information window of the program.
•Change the program priority. On the main screen, select “Find Programs” and then select “Season Pass Manager.” You will need to change the program priority on the Season Pass list. You will notice that the list now includes the program you have just included.
•Select the priority placement. Use your TiVo remote control to select the title of the program you just added. Move the cursor to the right in order to select the arrow by using your remote’s arrow keys to navigate. Select the priority placement for the program by moving it up or down, and then move the cursor to the left to go back to the title. Move the cursor to the left again to apply the changes. Take note that when you are setting the priority placement of a TV program that you want to record, make sure that it has a top priority placement so that it will not be skipped.
•Manage season passes online. You can also reorder the list of Season Pass requests through the online Season Pass manager at www.tivo.com/mytivo. With this tool, you can also delete individual Season Pass requests and even transfer Season Pass requests from one box TiVo box to another TiVo box. This way, you will no longer have to manually add season passes if you have a new TiVo box. You can simply transfer these by going online.
Aside from having an account on TiVo.com, you should have a broadband connection to use the online Season Pass manager. This feature can be enjoyed on the following: TiVo Series 2, TiVo Series 3, TiVo HD and HD XL, and TiVo Premiere and TiVo Premiere XL.
