Kickstarter Campaign Launched To Create Internet Reconnection Portal, ‘Absent4u’

Wales, UK - A crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter has officially been launched for ‘Absent4u’, a website and app designed to combat all issues of being absent from someone you love. The Kickstarter campaign aims to garner widespread support and financial backing to complete the development of the website and market it to a mass audience.

It’s a busy world we live in. Hyper connected, yet disconnected. Marriages are under stress, personal relationships are suffering and many are either spending less time with their families and ones they care about, or have even become completely disconnected. The Web has made it easier than ever to reconnect, but still lacks a unifying portal to facilitate reconnections. Enter Absent4u, a potentially industry disruptive app and website that aims to be that unifying portal.

The motivating idea behind the creation of Absent4u was to have a website portal that can reunite people who have lost touch due to various reasons while also serving as a database for someone’s own personal life. Absent4u will help its users get reunited, get help and have hope. “In my case, I’ve been a victim of Parental Alienation Syndrome,” said Absent4u founder and project creator Neil Jones. “I wanted to create a database whereby I could upload information about myself and my life over time so that when my daughters are ready, they can search for me and find out about me directly from the source – me.”

Absent4u has the potential to combat a range of medical, physical and social problems that come from the grief of not be able to stay in touch, or losing contact with loved ones. The platform aims to break down barriers, whether created by individuals or circumstances, without being intrusive or putting people under any undue stress or pressure. Absent4u has grown from its initial concept to now include individuals who have fostered or adopted. It includes missing people and people in the Armed Forces. The latest iteration will incorporate a page for people with a terminal illness or early signs of dementia.

“Absent4u is designed to be a worldwide service and will help the lives of millions of people. The funding we hope to raise from Kickstarter is required for the development of the website and app, and global marketing,” says Jones.

Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects. Everything from films, games, and music to art, design, and technology. ‘Backers’ who support a project on Kickstarter get an inside look at the creative process, and help that project come to life. ‘Backers’ of the Absent4u Kickstarter campaign who pledge their support will have an opportunity to involve themselves in the design and content creation of the site.

The Kickstarter campaign is officially open until December 30, 2016. For more information about the Kickstarter campaign, visit: http://kck.st/2h7q0GO
