Adam Christopher Design Ltd has today made public interesting facts about its 2016/17 concrete planter range, soon available at on the Adam Christopher website, which consumers and professionals within the design and architecture world should find particularly interesting.
Development facts:
The idea for creating the range of concrete planters came about after living in Denmark for some years and being inspired by Scandinavian themes.
Kronen, Femkant and Prisme have been in development for years and have taken a few different forms during that time depending on requirements and manufacturing method. Adam was the sole designer but later worked with an external studio for the production. This means that Adam's products are very personal and unique. When customers call to order or ask anything they will speak to Adam, the designer, and this is a rare opportunity to connect directly with the creator of the work.
The modern planters almost didn't see the light of day, when the business was actually stopped and began to shut down. When told they wouldn't be able to get AC planters after 2015 customers started to order larger amounts to fulfil orders before the stock was no longer available and it was realised that it wasn't the product that was not saleable but the format that wasn't workable. The problem was overcome when the business plan was reassessed and a completely new format was put into place, outsourcing the distribution and bringing an outside studio in to use their expertise in production.
Adam Christopher Design Ltd did something different compared to other businesses in the contemporary outdoor planter space, by taking the difficult option and creating dramatic and striking shapes that were hard to mould but interesting to the design industry. The cost of development is vast in comparison to simpler designs but this makes the range of AC concrete planters stand out.
Kronen was released as part of Adam Christopher Design Ltd's greater plans to have three distributions hubs, one in England, one in Germany and one in California. It's hoped this goal will be achieved in 5-10 years
Adam Christopher Design Ltd got it's start when Founder Adam Barnes noticed a growing need for more sculptural and artistic planters that worked as focal points for the garden. With no prior experience in the contemporary outdoor planter industry, Adam Barnes decided to go ahead and start in 2012.
Adam Barnes is quoted saying: "We like to do things to connect with our consumers and customers. Things like creating interesting articles on the website, Pinterest inspiration, mail shots, trade shows, and releasing these little facts."
Kronen, Femkant and Prisme are due for full release over the coming months with a sneak preview at Glee Birmingham in September.
