Author Releases Book To Help Parents Combat Rampant Screen Addiction In Children

Nancy Sungyun, MA. Ed, an academic coach who has worked with children in many capacities for over 35 years, this past month published a book, "[Free Your Child Screen Addiction](http://www.amazon.com/Free-Your-Child-Screen-Addiction/dp/1532783930?ie=UTF8&qid=1461076869&ref_=tmm_pap_swatch_0&sr=1-1)", to provide parents with constructive information and advice for combating rampant screen addiction in children today. Published April 18, 2016, the book offers practical techniques, as well as healthy ways, to get kids off the screens, TV and video games, and onto healthy life habits. This book will help parents who are struggling to get control over their children€™s obsession with screens.

€œIt is imperative that we address this problem sooner than later. The authentic happiness of our children depends on it.€ Sungyun says.

This book will help parents who currently are helplessly applying desperate and extreme measures to gain even a little bit of control over the screen addiction. Parents often wonder what else they can to beyond just giving warnings, making idle threats and even punishing their children. Most of these methods are ineffective in stopping the screen addiction, eventhough some parents may believe that they are working. However, the fact remains: nothing is working. Not consistently, and definitely not permanently. Deep down most parents understand that the current methods are futile. When a parent-child relationship is characterized by, €œYou live under my roof, and you will obey my rules!€ authentic communication is difficult. Children in this type of environment react in one of three ways: 1) They may appease their parents on the surface while doing what they want under the radar. 2) They may simply rebel and fight back. 3) Perhaps the worst, they may simply comply to authority with no regard for how they really feel, and never find their own voices or grow to be self-actualized adults. Sungyun says, €œMy book presents helpful techniques and information for transforming screen addicted-children into active, happy, and healthy children. It will authentically solve the screen addiction problem.€

As Jerome Imhoff, an former educator, states: "I am impressed by Nancy Sungyun's insights and ideas for freeing children from screen addiction. I noticed the impact that of excessive visual stimuli on my students, and this was many years before the advent of smart phones and tablets. What I love about this book is that it compels parents to free themselves from their own screen addiction (somewhat indirectly). Ms. Sungyun's suggestions for engaging with children are creative and practical. Her passion for children and families is readily apparent. This book is well worth a read. But, let's not stop with just reading the book. Let's actually apply the techniques and reap the amazing benefits of meaningfully engaged children and families."

Parents find this book to be a valuable resource to guide them in helping their children get rid of screen addiction and start living a healthier life.
