Groza Learning Center Offers Expert Insight on Changes to the 2016 SAT

One of the more frequently discussed subjects in academic circles in recent months involves the changes made to the SAT - the first changes made to the exam in over a decade - and the potential impact of those changes on student performance. Seeking to clarify precisely what those changes mean to students in a practical sense, the co-founders of the Groza Learning Center have published several articles detailing the nature of those changes and how students should approach the new version of the SAT.

Both Scott Groza and Christy Groza provided their expert academic insight on the subject, detailing the specific changes made to the test along with an overview of the materials made available by the College Board following the announcement that changes would be made to the 2016 version of the exam. The co-founder of the Groza Learning Center also explained that the changes should not necessarily be viewed as a deciding factor in opting to take the ACT instead of the SAT.

“As an educator who works very hard to prepare students for these critical exams, I initially shared many of the same concerns parents and students expressed upon learning of the changes,” said Scott Groza. “The College Board has provided appropriate materials detailing the nature of the changes made to the SAT and has supplied the same kinds of practice exams to publishers previously used to create past versions of preparation guides.”

Christy Groza added that the Groza Learning Center has already adapted its test preparation courses to reflect the changes made to the SAT, thereby ensuring that students will have the opportunity to perform their best on the SAT if that happens to be their preference. The learning center has also incorporated the changes to other aspects of its test preparation programs as well, including the diagnostic tests and vocabulary building workbooks. This comprehensive approach is designed for the benefit of the students, which is the same rationale that led the Groza Learning Center to publish several articles concerning the SAT changes.
