Earlier today, Adult Coloring Books website Color, Mind & Soul published a thorough and unbiased consumer review of Free Printable Colouring Pages for Adults. The conclusion being that while the designs excel at providing a break from today's common mandala patterns by incorporating a variety of imagery and geometric shapes, the free colouring page design lacks sufficient depth to satisfy the needs of more experienced artists. The most beneficial feature however is the option the artist has to solve a puzzle associated with the design via an interactive crossword puzzle found on the website. Unfortunately, the free colouring page also loses points because the design does not fill the majority of the page leaving too much white space.

While other cheap consumer review sites often focus solely on promoting just the good qualities of a product in order to make affiliate sales, Color, Mind & Soul strives to tell the complete story.
David Cliburn, Founder at Color, Mind & Soul said "Our reputation is incredibly important to us. If we don't tell the truth we serve no purpose. If people can't trust us then we will fail in our mission to assure the customer that the quality of colouring designs in our books will be superior to existing products on the market. That's why we don't hold back." Cliburn also stated "When I became involved in the Adult Coloring Book niche I immediately noticed a need for more variety in the market. I was very excited about self publishing and was learning along side an army of other biz-op enthusiasts, but as a graphic artist of 30 years I saw the majority of first time authors using second rate online software to produce little more than geographic patterns with little attention to basics like image resolution or line thickness. The industry has to be held to a higher standard if the adult coloring book market is to continue to flourish."
The following extract makes a good summary of the review:
"While the design provides a much needed break from the more common mandala patterns being offered today by providing more creativity, variety in images, and complexity it lacks sufficient depth in the imagery for many more experienced artists and does not fill the entire page. While these observations may be seen as standard practice by the status quo adding these elements would greatly improve the image and reputation of the author/company as well as raise the standard by which other free printable colouring pages are measured."
Color, Mind & Soul was created by David Cliburn in the Spring of 2015. He conceived the idea for the site when he saw a need for more variety and challenging options in colouring page designs.
This is the first review Color, Mind & Soul has published on products in the Adult Coloring Book market since it first went online and always aims to provide legitimacy and trust in the industry. The overall goal of their reviews is to raise the standards by which adult coloring book pages are produced.
David Cliburn also adds "For any consumer wanting to check the legitimacy of a review or quality of free printable colouring book pages I advise you to check other coloring book pages for stronger criteria. We base our ratings on 4 criteria: Print Quality, Complexity, Creativity, Challenge and Value, all of which are explained in more detail in the review article. Visitors are encouraged to download, print and color the free design in the review and provide their own rating and feedback."
