MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Good Shepherd United Methodist Church located at 6050 Summer Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee, just across the street from Shelby Oaks Elementary School will be serving sausage and biscuits with all the fixings, hot chocolate, iced tea, hot tea, and coffee on Black Friday, November 28, 2014 for the early morning Christmas shoppers from 3 AM until 9 AM or until our supply is depleted. Donations will be welcomed, and proceeds over and above costs will benefit a mission in the Congo.
The Congo conference of the United Methodist Church has District Superintendents in the Congo walking as much as 30 miles per day to get to their service sites from their residences. As a result, the local conference here in Memphis is trying to raise money to purchase nine (9) mopeds for them at a cost of $900.00 each. Good Shepherd United Methodist Church has committed to purchase one of them and that is the reason for this campaign.
