Power ng Pinoy TV’s cast and crew are organizing two events in a heartfelt effort to help fellow Filipinos who lost loved ones, homes and their belongings in the most powerful and devastating storms in recorded history, Typhoon Haiyan. The first event is a series of relief drives on several dates at a Filipino grocery store in the Bay Area in November and the second event is a Christmas Benefit Dance in December.
Super Typhoon Haiyan struck Central Philippines on November 9, 2013, its huge waves swept away coastal villages, killed thousands and wreaked horrible damage to homes, structures and roads in its wake. After several days, the storm left thousands of survivors homeless, hungry, thirsty, thankfully alive but with nowhere to go. The sad plight of the typhoon victims spawned global goodwill, the world poured out resources, manpower and prayers and love to the Philippines. Filipinos migrants all over the world have also come together to help their fellow countrymen in this time of need.
Power ng Pinoy’s first event, in cooperation with Island Pacific, Project Pearls, The Philippine Red Cross and LBC, will be “Philippine Super Typhoon Relief Drive” on the following dates and locations:
Island Pacific – MILPITAS | Nov 16 | 10am -2pm
Island Pacific – UNION CITY | Nov 17 | 10am – 2pm
Island Pacific – VALLEJO | Nov 23 | 10am – 2pm
Donations accepted are blankets, shoes, towels, canned food, toiletries and socks. LBC will ship these donations to the Philippines free of charge. Volunteers may call 510-378-0887.
Power ng Pinoy’s second event, in partnership with Cheryl Burke Dance Studio and The Philippine American Press Club, will be “Bay Area ‘Handog Pamasko’ Christmas Benefit Dance” as follows:

The Christmas Benefit Dance, proceeds of which go to the typhoon victims, will feature live entertainment, dance exhibitions, raffle drawing, dancing and more. Light refreshment will also be provided.
