SAMSA President Mike Stackhouse was included on the program at the 50th Annual meeting of the Missouri Valley Economics Association in Kansas City, MO. The meeting was October 17 – 19, and Mr. Stackhouse presented two statistical papers that he co-authored with Dr. Kaustav Misra, an Assistant Professor of Economics at Saginaw Valley State University.
Mike says, “It was a great experience. This is the first economics conference that I’ve attended, let alone been invited to present at. I was enlightened by attending presentations offered by many academic and professional economists and I received a lot of good information related to the econometric studies that I have been pursuing.” He continues, “I am very grateful for the help that I’ve received from Dr. Misra and others as I’ve been working on these projects.” The two studies that Mike presented were Impacts of Globalization on Worker Injury in Host Countries, and An Exploratory Investigation of The Impact of Internet Usage on Worker Productivity.
Mike plans to continue refining the papers with the hope of getting one or both published. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration degree at Saginaw Valley State University.
