February 03, 2025 - After two years as an intimate guided whiskey tasting, Olde Fashioned Toasts & Smokes is expanding into something truly special. On March 28, 2025, at the Castle Bridge Event Center, the event will transform into a full-scale whiskey festival, bringing together distilleries from across the country, unlimited samples, and a vibrant, immersive atmosphere where history and revelry collide.
This isn’t just a whiskey event—it’s an experience designed to transport guests into the heart of a rowdy medieval tavern, where the drinks flow freely, the laughter is loud, and camaraderie is the true star of the evening. Guests can sample a wide variety of fine spirits, meet distillers, and toast the night away with friends new and Olde.
Whiskey isn’t the only indulgence of the evening. Toasts & Smokes is also one of the few whiskey festivals in the nation that allows guests to enjoy premium cigars indoors, pairing perfectly with the night’s selection of spirits. Bad Ash Cigar Co., St. Joseph’s own artisan cigar brand, will be on site offering hand-rolled cigars, adding yet another layer of rare luxury to the event.
Beyond whiskey and cigars, the night will feature live entertainment, immersive theatrical performances, games, and prize giveaways, creating an unforgettable evening that blends Olde World charm with modern indulgence.
“For centuries, taverns weren’t just places to drink—they were a community hub, where people from all walks of life came together, raised a glass, and left as friends,” said R.J. Jackson, event producer. “That kind of communal experience doesn’t really exist in the U.S. anymore, and I wanted to create a unique space where people could step back into that atmosphere. A place that’s boisterous, but welcoming, and steeped in tradition, where every toast carries a story and every laugh is shared. And I think in these divisive times that is something we could all use a little more of.”
In addition to celebrating whiskey and camaraderie, Olde Fashioned Toasts & Smokes serves a greater purpose: proceeds from the event will benefit the Bluffwoods Renaissance Festival’s 2025 Season, supporting its mission to bring affordable, family-friendly entertainment to the region.
