Let me ask you a few quick questions - and please answer honestly, no one will know but you, I promise I'm not listening. Are you as good as you could be at golf? Are you having fun out there, even when you're lagging way behind? I'm not trying to say that you need to improve your skills - but if you landed on this blog, well, there's a pretty good chance that it's true. Well, I have bad news, good news, and confusing news. The bad news is that when you're done reading this article, absolutely nothing will have changed - your golf scores will still be the same, and no one will be impressed. The good news though - is that there's a guide that will explain what you can do to make your shots a little better, or to make the game more fun - it's all in the balls, and that is impressive. The confusing news is that this article you're reading right now, this blog, is not the guide I'm referring to - I wish I could take credit for that, but I didn't write it. This is more like my little intro to the high-handicap golf ball guide. If you couldn't care less about my intro, (don't worry, I'm not offended,) you can jump straight to the full, free guide. Just visit https://golfonlinetoday.com/best-golf-ball-for-high-handicap/ Now that we've got that straightened out, let's get down to the important business of how to straighten out your shots - and I'll explain why changing to a different golf ball can make all the difference. While standard golf balls have been highly engineered for durability, stability, and smooth flight, they're just that, "standard." There's nothing wrong with a "standard" ball, but it does a "standard" job - and we want more than that. The free guide from Golf Online Today explores several ways the standard design has been modified, and how it affects the flight of the ball. It covers seven key characteristics, and how you may be able to improve your scores just by picking the right ball for each shot. First, though, let me quickly say a word or two about why you might want to consider these high-handicap balls - because I know some people consider them to be "cheating," but that's silly. Obviously, you're not going to use a specialty ball in a highly competitive game, without at the very least letting your competition know - that would be cheating. There's no reason that you can't use these balls ethically though, as long as you go about it right. They can often level the playing field between differently skilled golfers, or help to reduce frustrating mistakes for beginners - and that's really important if a new player isn't having any fun. However, since each type of ball has unique flight characteristics, it is important to match the correct type of ball to each player - or you could end up making your score worse instead of better. I'm only going to briefly touch on the specifics of a few of my favorites - if you want to get all the details, on all the ball types, just check out the full guide. They even list some of the best brands and balls, so it's easy to find a top-quality ball that matches your particular style. One of my favorites is a “low driver spin ball” which helps you to shoot straighter, and farther, off the tee. Admittedly, these balls are less useful elsewhere on the course - but I love the way they let me drive it straight down the middle. Since high levels of spin on your ball can cause the shot to go higher, which also increases its chance of hooking or slicing, these balls help to reduce the spin, lower the shot, and provide additional penetrating power that allows them to travel further. Of course, if you have the opposite problem, you might want to consider balls that give you additional height in your shot, which can help you to reduce its spin and limit the distance it bounces after landing. These “high launch” balls are also considerably softer than traditional golf balls and can be more comfortable for some players to hit. The full guide also talks about accelerated ball speed, high-compression balls, soft-cover balls, and a variety of dimple options. In short, if you don't know exactly what you're looking for, it's the perfect place to start. They're not playing favorites either, Golf Online Today does not suggest that one golf ball type is superior, though it does highlight several ways that you can improve your scores by either selecting the correct ball to complement each shot, or the correct ball to complement your unique play style. Here's a line I stole directly from their guide - but don't tell Scott, the author. He's a good guy, but he'd never let me hear the end of it: “The enhanced materials in high-handicap balls mean they can go farther, fly straighter, and resist slicing or hooking - giving those with higher skill levels an edge on the course.” That pretty much sums it all up, right there. I probably could have just stolen that line, and skipped the rest of this blog - but it's too late for that now. Next time give me a heads-up Scott, jeez. Anyway, you can get all the details about every type of high-handicap ball, and how they can help out your game, in the full, free guide.
