MMSDC Ace Awards – Community Impact – Sean Duval

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Nov. 30, 2020 - Sean Duval, CEO/President of Golden Limousine International has been nominated for the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council 2020 Ace Award for Community Impact. This nomination and award celebrates the people, businesses, and organizations that rose above the exceptional 2020 challenges to help one and all, often at great personal risk. The winner will be selected at this year's virtual event Perseverance Under Pressure: How Diamonds are Made! on December 3, 2020. Event registration can be found at https://minoritysupplier.lpages.co/ace-awards-2020/.

Maya Adrine, Director of Alliance and Business Development, and longtime member of the Golden team submitted the nomination with a description of Sean's dedication since our crisis began. "Sean continues to be a strong leader for our company and for our community. During this pandemic, after having to lay off nearly all of the staff, Sean continued to pay healthcare for his employees, even assuming the employee portion of the premium. He kept regular contact with the employees helping them access social service resources and helping where he could, even buying diapers, gas, and food for those that needed help, while they were waiting for unemployment benefits," Maya shared.

Sean and his family created Golden Limousine International almost 30 years ago and while it concentrates on the transportation of clients for airport transports, shuttles, charter buses, event management, and international travel, the goal of the business has always, and will always be, about the people. "Our Golden team remains and continues to increase with the growth of our company because they all understand that the transportation aspect of our service is not the main focus – it's about the care of our clients, their employees, and families. We understand that caring for others is the true essence of community and to make our nation great we must start by improving our skills of listening, encouraging, and assisting the ones closest to us first," stated Sean.

Community involvement has always been a top priority for the Golden Limo team and Sean has been and continues to be a huge contributor to local organizations. "We are fortunate to be part of the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council (MMSDC) which is a non-profit organization promoting the economic growth of its corporate members and the minority-owned businesses that partner with them. And I am truly humbled by the nomination and feel honored to be amongst the other nominees – it proves there are many others that understand that people must always come first," shared Sean.
