Planning Kids College will be holding a free online workshop called "Industry Secrets EVERY Parent Needs To Know About College Planning". If you are the parent of a high-school student with plans for college...this workshop is a great place to start your college planning process. We will share what you and your student can be doing right now to best prepare for college. You will also learn how to qualify for the most financial aid even if you make to much money. My name is Julie with Planning Kids College. I will be hosting a candid conversation about some of the strategies we use as professional online college consultants to efficiently and successfully help the families we work with send their kids to college. We will discuss some common questions and misunderstandings surrounding financial aid and provide some good working knowledge of the process. College costs regularly run at an 8% inflation rate or more...that means the cost of college DOUBLES every 9 years. Dont blindly trust "the system" to maximize your student and help you qualify, not just for the most financial aid, but the most free financial aid.If you’re a high school student or parent, it’s likely your head is spinning trying to understand how the Coronavirus is going to impact the college admissions journey. This is a fluid conversation and there is so much that can't be certain. COVID-19 will definitely have an impact on the admissions process in the years to come. One of the biggest changes many colleges have made was to move to test optional admissions, meaning students do not need to submit an SAT or ACT score for consideration. This does NOT mean your student should forgo those tests. In fact, they are likely still going to hold a lot of weight for scholarships, so students should remain active with their study routine and plan to take them—either again or for the first time as they become available. We also discuss the choice of staying in state for college or taking the leap and finding another state to call home during the college years. Some students jump at the opportunity to go far and live somewhere completely new, while others can’t fathom wanting to leave what’s close and familiar. Interestingly, the true cost difference between in-state and out of state schools isn't always as obvious as the sticker price. This workshop is about PLANNING AHEAD! There are a lot of high school students out there competing for the same spot, at the same school, for the same financial aid that your student is looking for. Get started on your process here! You will get the chance to ask questions and get the information not readily available through other channels.
