The Secret Gallery will hold its 2nd annual fundraiser for Clatsop Animal Assistance (CAA) as a series of online pet portraiture auctions. Every two weeks, starting May 1, 2020, one of a select group of artists will be featured. The winner of each auction will receive a custom portrait of their pet in a frame chosen for the artist by The Secret Gallery.
Proceeds from each auction will be split 50/50 between the artist and Clatsop Animal Assistance (CAA).
The Secret Gallery’s 2019 charity dinner and art auction for CAA raised enough money to cover 33% of CAA’s 2019 budget for spaying and neutering homeless animals.
According to Chris Minnick, co-owner of The Secret Gallery, "We considered not having the fundraiser this year because the virus will likely prevent us from having a dinner and live auction. But, when we asked around the community and were told that pretty much all fundraisers would have to be put on hold for the foreseeable future, we knew we had to do something for the animals – and for the artists."
Marcy Dunning, Clatsop Animal Assistance president, said, "During these tough times the county animal shelter is still taking in dogs and cats, and staff and volunteers are working hard to make sure these animals are well taken care of and have every opportunity to meet potential adopters. Meet and greets are by appointment only. Just call the shelter at 503-861-7387 to set one up."

July 1 - July 15: Noel Thomas
July 16 - July 30: Cassandra Kim
