MADISON, Wis. - Oct. 17, 2019 -The Costume Contest is one of the great Wizard World traditions, with cosplayers showing off their "Saturday best" with every conceivable outfit demonstrating their creativity, fashion sense and fandom. And now Wizard World Madison attendees can vie for more than just bragging rights, as the Best in Show winner at the October 26 event will receive a $10,000 cash prize, and five other categories will carry $500 prizes in the largest offering for a Wizard World Costume Contest ever, a $12,500 prize pool.
Attendees holding a weekend (3-day) or Saturday event admission for Wizard World Madison (October 25-27) may register to participate in the contest, held at the Alliant Energy Center on Saturday evening. In addition to the Best in Show grand prize of $10,000 to the individual or group selected, Wizard World will award $500 to one winner in each of the following categories: Best Hero; Best Villain; Best Anime Character; Best Video Game Character; Best Group or Duo. 'Freaks & Geeks' star Samm Levine will host and pro cosplayers Mogchelle, LadyDragon Creations and Papa Bear Cosplay are among the scheduled judges for the event, with others to be added.
