NEWARK, N.J. - Oct. 9, 2019 - Finalists pitching in a national Opportunity Zone (OZ) project competition being held next week in Newark, New Jersey represent nearly one quarter of a billion dollars of investment potential in Opportunity Zones. These difference-making projects would create jobs, restore properties, install renewable energy, process waste and develop affordable housing in communities typically starved for capital investment.
After a hot breakfast, lunch and a robust educational program on the nuts & bolts of real-world real estate redevelopment in OZs served up throughout the day, the Opportunity Zone Boot Camp & Pitch Competition in Newark concludes with an open project competition that places investment-ready projects in front of redevelopment experts to pose questions and judge who presents the most compelling (1) commercial investment opportunity, and (2) community impact opportunity.
Winners will be announced and prizes awarded in a happy hour event that follows the conclusion of a complete day of opportunity development at NJIT!
Registration includes breakfast, lunch, parking at NJIT and off-site awards networking event.
