In 1990, Sung Shin Trading Co., Ltd was established to primarily distribute and trade high end electronic products from Japan and Korea. Later in 1996, we approached Korean manufacturers of automatic doors with the request to distribute their products in China and they have accepted.
Over the next 3 years, we became a well-known and popular supplier of foreign made automatic doors and automated systems in China. While this period has been successful for our company as we have realized that the demands for high end automated door systems were very limited, as the price was beyond the reach of many potential customers in China. Recognizing this and also the potential for automatic doors in China, in 1999, Qingdao Sung Shin Auto Door Co., Ltd. was established, with emphasis on manufacturing automatic doors at the price that is suitable for Chinese customers. Straight away, our company enjoyed great success as we are able to utilize the knowledge gained through cooperating with our Korean partners and produce automatic doors that are relatively high in quality yet low in price.
Over the 5 years that we have been manufacturing automatic doors, we have realized that in order to succeed in the future, it will not be enough to simply provide automatic doors at competitive prices, but that we must bring satisfaction to our customers through delivering quality, reliable and fit-for-purpose products. From this point on, our mission was to produce products that reflect a vision that defies preconceptions and transforms the idea of quality at balanced price, to constantly refine, improve and break new grounds and offer customers only the very best. Our determination to pursue this mission was rewarded. In 2004, Qingdao Sung Shin Auto Door Co., Ltd. was awarded ISO9001:2000 certificate and also the certificate of quality assurance (KETI) from Korean Electric Testing Institute, both highlighting our quality assurance and quality management.
In line with our company mission, in 2004, our brand name SPACE was created. All subsequent products that we manufacture under this brand would incorporate and reflect our vision of delivering quality, reliable and fit-for-purpose products. At the same time, we were still able to maintain the price at reasonable level as we were able to utilize favorable tax rates, labor and business conditions that are available in China. Over the next 5 years, SPACE products became well recognized by Chinese and foreign customers for their quality without compromise and have been awarded CE mark for certified safety.
In the further pursuit of our company mission, in 2009, we moved into a new facility in Qingdao High Tech Industrial Zone and became the only manufacturer in China, which develops and manufactures all hardware and software and makes our automatic doors in one factory. This allowed us to eliminate unreliable and low quality suppliers and have full control of the production processes. As a result, our company now enjoys great success in China as we can fully assure the quality and operational reliability of our products, allowing our Chinese and global customers to win local and international tenders.
