Our main product is red goji berry,which has been used in TCM(traditional Chinese medicine) and cuisine since 600 years ago. China is the main supplier of goji berry products in the world, and the quality of goji berry planted in Zhongning county is the best. Zhongning county lies on the Banks of the Yellow River, which is rich of mineral elements. Zhongning goji is irrigated by the Yellow River and Liupan mountain Qingshui River whose water is weak alkaline and also rich in mineral elements. Zhongning county lies in a north temperate monsoon climate zone. The annual average temperature is 9.5 ℃,and the annual average precipitation 202.1 mm. The total precipitation from June to August accounts for 61% of annual rainfall; The annual evaporation was 1947.1 mm, 9.6 times of the average annual precipitation. There is large temperature difference between day and night , what’s more, there enough light and less rain. All of above conditions are the reason of the best quality of goji berries.
Goji berries play important roles in TCM(traditional Chinese medicine) .Goji berries are believed to have the following functions: enhance immune system , help eyesight, protect the liver, boost sperm production, and improve blood circulation. In TCM terms, Goji berries are sweet in taste and neutral in nature. They act on the liver, lung, and kidney channels and enrich yin. Goji berries can be eaten raw, or brewed into tea.
Goji berries are nutritious, containing beta-carotene, Vitamins C, B1, B2 and other vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids. It is also claimed that the berries contain such nutrients as isoleucine, tryptophan, zinc, iron, copper, calcium, germanium, selenium, phosphorus, B6, and vitamin E.
Culinary uses: As a healthy food, dried Goji Berries may be eaten raw or cooked. Their taste is somewhat similar to that of raisins. Dried Goji Berry is an ingredient often used in Chinese soups. Goji berry can be also soaked in Chinese liquor as medicinal liquor to drink. Young shoots and leaves of the goji bush are also grown commercially as a leaf vegetable.
