This is the second book Schasteen has authored. It was written with the aim in mind to educate friends of animals - small and large - on how to use essential oils effectively in animal care. The aim of the book is to raise awareness on the long lost and forgotten natural remedies, the lifeblood of plants - essential oils - for animals. There's particular excitement about this launch because it will be the author's much anticipated release following her bestseller "Duftmedizin - therische le und ihre therapeutische Anwendung".
The book sets its main focus on heartwarming stories of dogs, cats, birds, horses and other animals, and how their problems were helped by the use of therapeutic-grade essential oils. Readers will likely find a particular interest in the many essential oil remedies and recipes which accompany each chapter. The book's cover art was created by Annette Wagner and Duftmedizin fr Tiere is being released by Crotona Publishing Company.
Maria L. Schasteen has a background in teaching a worldwide community of essential oil enthusiasts the art and science of using therapeutic-grade essential oils in everyday life. This helped shape the creation of the book, because of the vast experience with essential oil users and their animals, which the author accompanied over the years. She is owner of Secrets of Nature, Inc.

When asked about why she wrote the book, Schasteen said: People and their pets need to experience the blessings of therapeutic-grade essential oils and the difference, these natural remedies can make in their health and wellbeing. Essential oils make happy and healthy!
The author has hopes the book will inspire a new generation of health conscious people to take a new perspective and health conscious approach by using nature's own resources - essential oils - in animal care. This positive outlook from the author is certainly testament to her optimism considering some of the mishaps during its creation. "At one point we had to shorten the book considerably, because the content was going beyond the scope of a 200-page book," she reports. "There are so many kinds of pets - I wanted to leave none of them out - and so many amazing stories about their experiences with therapeutic-grade essential oils."
In a recent interview, the author made a point of thanking the many essential oil users who shared their first hand experiences using therapeutic-grade essential oils on their precious pets, saying: This book is dedicated with love to all the animals, small and large, and to their human friends, who are looking to nature for help in animal care.
