Local children's literacy business reaches finals of national awards

BookBorne based in Speeton and covering the Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough areas has just found out that they are a Finalist in the prestigious Networking Mummies UK Ltd Recognition National Business Awards in the Best Independent Representative within Direct Sales category.

BookBorne are a small business who aim to promote childhood reading and help people find books that their children love whilst helping them to learn and develop life long skills. The Mum and Dad team specialise in helping Schools, Nurseries, Playgroups and libraries raise money to purchase new books without spending their own very tight budgets. This has very recently resulted in Quay Academy of Bridlington gaining over £2000 to spend on new books.

Networking Mummies UK Ltd has 32 branches in the UK and supports mums, dads and families in business with FREE networking events and affordable workshops. They provide online and offline support and they do not charge membership fees which means people can attend when they want. This is the third year Networking Mummies UK Ltd have hosted their National Business Awards to recognise the hard working mums and dads across the country.

The winners will be announced at their glitzy black tie awards ceremony on Saturday the 16th of April at Aston Villa Football Club in Birmingham where they will also be raising funds for Meningitis Now on the night.

Alison Burrows of BookBorne quotes €œI am so proud and honoured to have been announced as a Finalist. To me what I do is very rewarding anyway, but to be recognised for that is amazing. I love reading with my own children and bringing the message that reading is a life changing skill to as many people as possible just fills my heart with joy. Far too many children miss out on the chance to let their imaginations run wild through books and the pressures on school budgets make it hard for them to regularly update their libraries. So knowing I can do my bit to help is something I'm super passionate about.€
