Members of a local church are making holiday dreams come true for an entire elementary school. Faith Assembly Church is donating 896 bicycles along with tricycles, wagons and accommodations for children with special needs to the students at a local elementary school. A local business owner whose company distributes fitness equipment, including [bike cell phone](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N7033DG) [holders](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N7033DG) and other bike safety accessories is challenging other business owners to improve upon the gift by adding bike accessories to the donated bicycles.
This is the third year in a row that the church has adopted" a school to gift with bicycles. The members raise money from local business owners to purchase a bicycle for every single student at the schools they adopt. In 2013, the church gifted 955 students with bicycles for Christmas. In 2014, the 811 students at another area elementary school were the delighted recipients of Christmas bikes.
One local entrepreneur heard about the program too late to take part in the donation this year, but he has a suggestion for other business owners like himself. Add on to the gift with important safety accessories, he says.
Every kid dreams of getting a bike for Christmas," he says. And this amazing congregation is making it happen for an entire school. No one really dreams of getting a bike tool kit or bike cell phone holder or bike helmet under the tree, but those are vitally important safety accessories for cyclists."
While these students may seem young for such a gift, he continued, it's never too early to start emphasizing that bike safety goes far beyond wearing a helmet when you ride. [Bike cell phone holders](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N7033DG), for example, help eliminate distractions while riding and might be especially appropriate for pre-teen and tween bicycle riders.
Kids are using cell phones and mobile devices at younger and younger ages," the business owner said. If they listen to music on their way to school or talk with friends while riding their bikes, it's important that they do so safely."
The children at the elementary school learned about the bicycle donation when church members rode into their cafeteria on bicycles. They're receive their bicycles on Sunday after church members spend the week assembling almost 1,000 bicycles for the big event.
We just want them to take this moment, translate it into their lives and believe there's still good out there," the church pastor said.Even though this world is full of chaos right now and you can't turn on the news and feel good about anything, these kids can feel good about Christmas."
